Q: How do I know if my team is selected for the competition?
A: Your team leader and teacher-in-charge will be notified via email and SMS. Thus teams and teachers are encouraged to provide their mobile numbers in the registration form.
Q: Can I/ my team choose to withdraw from the competition?
A: You/Your team may only withdraw from the competition during the registration stage. Once your team is selected for the one-day training workshop on 27 August, you/your team will not be able to withdraw from the competition.
Q: Can my team change the team members during the competition?
A: Your team is only allowed to change team members during the registration stage. All team members are to be finalised before the closing date of 14 August. No more changes will be allowed after the closing date.
Q: Can my team choose to use a different type of software other than what is provided by The Organisers?
A: In order to ensure fairness, only software* provided by the organisers can be used for the purposes of this competition.
* The three software provided (Animaker, Toon Boom Studio and Photoshop) are adequate for the purpose of the competition. Training will be provided to ensure that all participants are proficient in handling these authorised software.
Q: Do I get to keep the animation clip produced by my team?
A: Yes, your team will retain a copy of the final clip. Written permission for use of the clips shall be sought from The Organisers.
Q: I would like to be updated on the latest happenings on N.E.mation! 6. How can I go about it?
A: You can Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our YouTube channel. Or you could subscribe to our updates by filling in your email address on the main page.
Q: Can my team take part in both the Schools Digital Media Awards (SDMA) and N.E.mation! 6 at the same time?
A: Yes, your team may take part in both competitions as long as you meet the entry requirements.
ELIGIBILITY
Q: Who is eligible to take part in N.E.mation! 6?
A: All Singaporeans and Permanent Residents who are students from Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges and Centralised Institutes are eligible.
Q: Can my school send more than one team?
A: Yes! There is no limit on the number of teams participating. Schools are encouraged to send in multiple teams.
REGISTRATION
Q: Can I/my team submit more than one story during registration?
A: Yes. You can submit up to three stories but the minimum requirement is to submit at least one story. Teams are encouraged to submit three stories to increase their chances of being selected.
Q: How do I know that my team has successfully registered?
A: You will be directed to a confirmation page and a confirmation email will be sent to your team leader and teacher-in-charge. If you are not directed to the confirmation page or no confirmation email has been sent to your team leader and teacher-in-charge, please write in to us.
Q: What does the message prompt ‘NRIC Duplication’ mean?
A: Your NRIC number is used to verify that you have only registered with ONE team. Please remove yourself from the previously registered team before you register in the new team. If you are still encounter problem with the change, please contact us for assistance.
Q: The teacher-in-charge reflected on the registration form for my school is incorrect. What should I do?
A: For ease of registration, there will only be one teacher-in-charge for each school. If the teacher-in-charge shown on the registration form is not a teacher from your school or your school would like to change the teacher-in-charge, please write in to us.
WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING
Q: Is it compulsory for all participants to attend all training workshops?
A: Yes! All participants are expected to attend all training workshops (except the Content Development Workshop*) so as to equip themselves with the necessary animation techniques and skills to progress in the competition. Absence without prior permission from The Organisers will disqualify the team from the competition.
*The Content Development Workshop is an optional workshop for students. The purpose of the Content Development Workshop is to provide some guidance and training to the teams in developing their story ideas. Teams are encouraged to attend the workshop to understand how to develop good stories.
Q: My team has registered for the Content Development Workshop but would like to change the date. How can we go about it?
A: The registration form does not allow change of date. If your team would like to attend the workshop on another date, please write in to us. The request will be granted based on the availability of seats.
